Mail a records request to the Sheriff's Office, Attn: Records Clerk, at the address above. Ask for a cost estimate because the office has not published a distinct booking-photo fee or fixed production time. Call 911 for an emergency.
Choose the office based on what you need:
- For a county booking photo, intake record, current jail search, or records-request steps, use the Steuben County booking resource and contact the Sheriff's Records Clerk.
- For a criminal-warrant concern, use the sheriff's nonemergency line or the court path described under Wanted Fugitives. The public website has no comprehensive warrant portal.
- For someone believed to have been arrested recently, start with the official sheriff app's Jail Inmate feature, then call dispatch or Records if no result appears.
- For release status or an older county booking, contact the Records Clerk. No verified general jail-release alert exists.
- For a court disposition, contact the Steuben County Clerk at 305 S. Martha St., Judicial Center first floor, Angola, IN 46703, or call (260) 668-1000.
- For a sentenced Indiana prisoner, use the Indiana Department of Correction offender locator rather than the county jail system.
- For federal or immigration custody, use the Federal Bureau of Prisons or ICE locator. Those systems are separate from Steuben County Jail.
